Today was about wandering around La Paz to discover the old town and where people live work..

Found an amazing flower market. The sights and smells were incredible

Streets of flowers

Round the corner to a colourful food market. Such beautiful vegetables and fruits.

Potatoes anyone?

Some local cheese

A gigantic pumpkin!

The road towards the Witches Market

The most common form of transportation is these small minibuses that operate seemingly random routes. They cause a lot of traffic congestion.

The old town of La Paz has lots of Spanish influenced architecture.

Whilst looking for amulets at the Witches Market I was visited by a spirit animal. Just a cat really :)

The bread stalls smelled delicious

Raine chose an empanadas de huevo - egg pasty. It was pretty good.

Eglise San Francisco

A Bolivian couple sheltering themselves from the sun.

Raine engaging with the locals. This time a carnival troupe.

Posing for the cameras

Went to a gallery dedicated to the Bolivian artist Roberto Mamani Mamani. The art was so incredibly colourful and stylised. One of Raine’s favourites.

Calle Jaen in the old town is the location of several museums and was the heart of the Bolivian revolution against the Spanish. For a couple of pounds we got to visit four museums. Sadly we couldn’t take any photos inside.
